Try Transmission, its a great software that is light, has a very low memory profile, is cross-platform compatible (Mac and GTK+), works perfectly, has no spyware or adware, and even has a web interface… Just like uTorrent.

2026 Update:

18 years later and I still gravitate towards transmission when I need to download any torrents. Of course, the need for torrents has gone down considerably but is never zero. If you are looking for a BitTorrent client for Mac OS, transmission BT is still a solid choice for Windows, Mac, and Linux machines.
