ColoursAlive started in 2007, founded by Susheel Chandradhas in Chennai — initially as a graphic and web-design agency working with clients like Marry Brown, Real Image Media Technologies, Qube Cinema, Covenant India, and Ampa Skywalk. Despite our founder's long connection to photography, the camera waited its turn.
In January 2015, ColoursAlive pivoted back to its source: high-quality product, industrial and commercial photography (offered by Susheel since 2004), and video production (offered as a supplementary service since 2011). Today the studio publishes for clients across mainstream television, YouTube, Instagram and other platforms — hundreds of videos, millions of views, and a steadily widening photography portfolio.
We believe a strong graphic-design and advertising background lets us communicate better, understand brands more deeply, and consistently deliver a product that helps medium-sized enterprises in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and beyond stand apart in their fields through visual storytelling.

In 2021, ColoursAlive moved into its dedicated shooting space at Fortune Studios, Pallikaranai — a 36ft × 24ft × 12.5ft floor with an 8ft × 4ft service door, black and white seamless concrete backgrounds, and a fully equipped makeup and changing area. The studio can accommodate everything from jewellery to motorcycles to three-wheeled vehicles.
Our video work reaches mainstream television, YouTube, Instagram and other digital platforms — hundreds of videos produced, millions of views accumulated, and a growing stable of clients who return year-on-year for new content. DTH TV, YouTube, and Instagram are the primary distribution channels for our video clients today.
Looking ahead: ColoursAlive is expanding into 3D product visualisation in partnership with Nabina Ghosh Creatives — for products that don't yet physically exist, or where multiple variants need to be explored without re-shooting.

Photographer, filmmaker and writer based in Chennai. Susheel's relationship with the camera began in school, studying photography and image retouching outside class hours. A Bachelor's in Visual Communication from Loyola College, Chennai (2003) gave him a foundation across graphic design, advertising and visual storytelling — the disciplines that still shape how he reads a brief today.
Specialises in product photography (studio and lifestyle), corporate photography and video, industrial photography, and action/sports work. Founded ColoursAlive in 2007 — and has run the studio's commercial photography practice ever since.
