Susheel
Chandradhas.
Photographer, filmmaker and writer based in Chennai. Two decades of commercial work — products, industry, action.
"Whether he is capturing the art of parkour, the detail in a product, or the expanse of an industrial facility — the work is always infused with a love of photography and a dedication to capturing the perfect image."
Susheel's relationship with the camera began in school, where he studied photography and image retouching outside class hours. A Bachelor's in Visual Communication from Loyola College, Chennai (2003) gave him a foundation across graphic design, advertising, visual storytelling and communication — the disciplines that still shape how he reads a brief today.
After a stint in the creative side of the advertising business, Susheel founded ColoursAlive in 2007. The studio began as a graphic and web-design agency working with names like Marry Brown, Real Image Media Technologies, Qube Cinema, Covenant India and Ampa Skywalk. Through it all, photography stayed at the centre of the practice — offered to clients as far back as 2004.
In January 2015, ColoursAlive pivoted back to its source: high-quality photography and video production. Today his specialisations cover studio and lifestyle product photography, corporate photography and video, industrial work across vast facilities, and action/sports photography born out of a long-running personal love for parkour and bicycles.
Beyond client work, Susheel writes at Beyond Photo Tips and is a staff writer at fstoppers.com — covering the craft, the gear, and the business of running a commercial studio.
